Foxit Reader is installed on court computers.
Signatures become a permanent part of the PDF file.
What are digitized signatures?
A digitized signature is an image of your signature that you can place in PDF documents.
- You will create a PDF signature in Foxit Reader, either by typing, drawing, uploading an image, or pasting an image.
- Then, you can insert that signature in any PDF you open with Foxit Reader.
- You can save multiple signatures. For instance, you may save one signature that is only initials and another that has your name spelled out.
Create a signature
- Open the PDF file.
- On the Protect tab, click Fill & Sign. Click the plus sign.
- Select the method.
- Follow the prompts.
- Click OK.
- Click on the PDF to place the signature. It can be dragged to place it more accurately
- Click Apply All Signatures in the toolbar.
- Save the PDF.
Methods
Type
- Type your name.
Draw
- Draw your signature in the field using your mouse or signature pad.
Import
After you create a scanned signature, choose the Import method.
To create a scanned signature:
- Sign a blank, unlined piece of paper and scan it.
- Browse to the scans folder and move your PDF scan to your desktop.
- Open the PDF file with Foxit Reader.
- Save the image to your H drive as a JPEG.
Place a signature on a PDF
- Open the PDF in Foxit.
- Click Fill & Sign.
- Click on the preferred signature.
- Click the spot in the PDF where you want to place the signature.
- Resize: You can resize your signature by clicking on the signature and grabbing the blue corner.
- Move: You can move your signature by clicking and dragging it.
- When it is positioned correctly, right-click on it and select Apply Signature to make it a permanent part of the PDF file.
- Save the PDF.
