If audio is an essential part of your shared content, you can send the computer’s audio to the remote attendees when sharing, providing a more professional and immersive sharing experience.

Note: Make sure the speaker output matches the device selected in the videoconferencing software. For example, both audios must be playing from your headset.

  1. Start or join a Zoom meeting.
  2. Click Share on the meeting toolbar.
  3. Select the program or desktop you wish to share.
  4. Select Share sound in the bottom-left corner of the share selection window.
  5. Click Share in the bottom-right corner to begin sharing with your device’s audio included.

You can start sharing device audio after you’ve already shared your screen: locate the Share toolbar, click More, then select Share Sound.

Tips & tricks

  • If you are sharing a video file, save it to your computer rather than streaming it from a website.
  • You cannot share computer sound if you are sharing multiple screens.
  • Videoconferences require high bandwidth, which limits the quality of video transmission to your attendees.  The video may look choppy, and unfortunately, it is unavoidable.
  • For best quality, attendees and organizers should join the meeting from a high-speed, wired connection and close all non-essential applications such as email, instant messaging, and internet browsers.
  • You must be connected to audio via Computer audio to share video sound.
